1. Santa Claus is simply referred to as "Ho".
2. All wrapped gifts are to be opened by Elizabeth. Pay no attention to the name on the tag. They're for her to open.
3. Christmas cookies with M&Ms are the best. You might as well just make those.
4. Christmas tree lights must be turned on first thing in the morning and upon entering the house. "Tree... Lights."
5. When singing Christmas carols at great-grandma and great-grandpa Zach's house, you must dance. This means shake your tail feather while standing in the middle of the room with 25 people watching. And if Grandpa Charlie stops playing his guitar for a few seconds, it is Lizzy's duty to strum it for him to keep it going.
6. A Magna Doodle is the best present for a soon-to-be two-year-old.
7. Trumpets in the choir at Christmas Eve mass calls for fist pumps.
8. Inflatable lawn decorations are the coolest thing EVER.
9. Pulling your rocking chair right up to the tree so your nose is basically touching it gives you the best viewing angle.
10. If one gets a little cranky after no naps and lots of celebrating over the Christmas weekend, simply strip down and go naked. It's a cure-all.
We had a wonderful Christmas, surrounded by family. It's such a magical time of year with little ones around and we feel so very blessed this year. I was feeling a bit nostalgic for last year's Christmas when Lizzy was still a baby. The pregnancy hormones surely don't help with that, but nonetheless I tried to enjoy every little moment with her because I know next year I will look back at pictures from this year and think the same thing. And next Christmas we'll have a 9-month-old boy, too. WOW!
Lizzy received lots of great presents this year, including (but of course not limited to) a new kitchen, a hand-crafted table and chairs by grandma and grandpa Zach, tons of Play-Doh stuff, a Magna-Doodle, new clothes, lots of new books and puzzles, a wooden train... So much to do!! :o)
