A couple of weeks ago, I was driving the kids home after school. Lizzy is usually pretty talkative during our drives, and this particular day she was full of questions: What did you do at work today? What are we having for dinner? What's tomorrow? Are grandma and grandpa coming over tonight? All the usuals. Then...
"Mommy, how do babies get in mommy's bellies?"
Uh....
You're not supposed to ask me that question for a few more years. So, I sat there and thought about the best way to answer her question. And finally...
"Lizzy, when two people love each other very much, God gives them a baby and puts it in the mommy's belly."
"But how does he put them in there?"
"I don't know, Lizzy, God can create miracles and we don't know how. What made you ask that question today?"
"Mommy, I see a bus..."
Ok, whew. Done with that conversation.
