Toddler Talk

A month ago I was starting to worry about little Mister's speech- or lack thereof. He's been saying his favorite words for a long time now, but he just wasn't branching out much. Welp, I'm eating those words now. His language has exploded in the last couple of weeks and now he never stops. He repeats everything we say. And we always knew that kid would have a lot to say. Here are some of his favorite two-word phrases:

Choo Choo! This one has been around for a while and I'm sure it will remain a favorite for quite some time. He's still in love with all things choo choo; figurines, shows, puzzles, books, you name it.

Choo choo, papa, choo choo, papa! This one cracks me up. I guess he just likes to say his two favorite things together.

Dino book! We are branching out and discovering a love for dinosaurs, in addition to our obsession with trains. He also LOVES reading books right now. As soon as we're done, he says "again."

Hi mommy! (Or hi daddy, or hi gramma) Dude loves to say this when he wants our attention. And he usually says it about 10 times in a row. If we don't pay attention, he yells it right in our face.

Hi Lucy! He loves his Lucy.

Yay milk! He also loves his milk and gets very excited for it. He usually claps, too.

While we're on the subject, let's talk about the funny things Lizzy is saying these days.

We were playing with her little doll house the other day and there's a washer/dryer for the little laundry room. She was telling me she was going to do laundry for the dolls and this side is the "wetter" and this side is the "dryer." Makes sense to me.

Our good friends, the Rathes, are having a baby this summer. Lizzy and I were talking about that and she asked when Kelly and Jared are going to get married and have their wedding. I told her they got married and had their wedding a long time ago. "Don't they have to have a wedding every time?" Jon and I have already started talking to Lizzy about doing things in life in order:  go to college, get married, then have kids. So, she assumed you had to get married each time you wanted to have a baby.

And speaking of babies, she regularly informs me that she will be having three babies; two girls and one boy. She already has their names set (and has for quite some time). Their names will be Michelle, Toddler Baby, and Brother Baby. Sounds good to me. She is also asking if God will give us another baby. Oh boy.

Lizzy is such a health eater. She loves her veggies and fruits. We talk a lot about eating healthy to grow big and strong. Now she says, "mom, I don't get sick because I eat healthy things, right?" Right-o baby girl. And before she eats something, she always asks me if it's healthy. She asked if M&Ms are healthy and when I said no, she disagreed. PotAto, potato.
