- When Henry was born, Lizzy came to the hospital wearing flip flops and a skirt. It was the middle of March and was the warmest spring ever! She had been wearing flip flops in early March already. Then that summer we paid for it because it was the hottest EVER. We were living in the townhouse, building our home, and we didn't spend much time outside. Our days were spent watching Tinkerbell movies and Abby's Flying Fairy School on Sesame Street, having carpet picnics, stacking blocks and boxes, taking care of babies (real and not-so-real), going to the library's story time, and just playing.
- Some more memories of the townhose: Lizzy watching tv in our bed before bedtime, Henry sleeping in the rock and play next to our bed, having lots of family time in our bedroom because it was so big, walking to Target or Runza or Cherry on Top, going to the big park in the neighborhood, rarely cooking in that tiny kitchen, finding out mom and dad were moving to Lincoln via FaceTime (when H was about two months old), Lizzy laying on the steps, Henry sitting in the Bumbo on the counter, using Henry's room basically as storage for his clothes and a pumping room :)
- Henry has always had a hard time cutting teeth. I think it's because he would never take a binkie. Maybe that's true and maybe it's not. He also has gotten all of his teeth in clusters; multiple teeth at one time. How painful that must be! His face gets all chapped, he starts chewing his fingers and drooling like a mad man, and gets really ansy at bedtime. When he got old enough (maybe about 18 months), he started getting the Orajel for me to put it on at bedtime. Poor guy. And if he woke in the middle of the night (frequently), it was very difficult to get him settled back down. When it was really bad, he spent nights in our bed. Yep, swore I'd never do that, but he would settle back down and everyone could sleep then. Other than teething, he was the happiest and easiest baby EVER. Love that kid.
- Lizzy talks constantly. When she is with me and Henry, it's pretty much non-stop. She asks questions, tells me about her plans, and then asks more questions. It's adorable and lots of people don't believe me because she can be shy in groups of people. But I'm telling you, she is a chatterbox!
- When we moved into our house, the kids thought the big tub in our bathroom was pretty cool. I started letting them take baths in there on "special nights" which usually meant daddy was gone for some reason or I wanted to sit for a bit and relax while they played. That - of course - gradually turned into their bathtub. They love when we fill it up after they're done washing and put bubbles in with the jets. The bubbles get really thick. So fun. About three months ago, Lizzy asked if she could take a shower while Henry took a bath. She now can shower almost completely by herself. Miss Independent. And Henry doesn't mind having that big bathtub to himself.
- Henry, my social bug, still gets sad when mommy leaves; especially at school. He just started getting better and excited to see his teacher, rather than clingy and crying, but she is going to have a baby soon. That will be a tricky transition. BUT. You should see this kid in groups of people. He certainly is energized by people. At his heart, he is a social bug. He LOVES when we have people over. It's so fun to watch.

...Documented
There are so many things that I want to remember about this crazy/beautiful/exciting/tiring/happy/fun time in our lives. Little kids in the house; there's really nothing like it. I had hoped for this blog to be a place to document our lives so that I can read and reread this when my house isn't full of Barbies and choo choos and blocks. So, this is going to be all over the place, but I want to get these memories documented. Because Lord knows I won't remember them if I don't!
