Lizzy Right Now

Oh my word, it just keeps getting better. Lizzy is such a fun, spirited, sweet little girl. Her imagination has really take off recently and I love seeing her and listening to her play. She loves her babies right now; rocking them to sleep, feeding them, reading to them. Her babies cry sometimes when they want her, so she drops whatever she's doing to go hold her babies. So sweet. They are all named Cinderella. Her favorite one, though, is actually a baby Cinderella. She goes on errands with us in her carseat and sleeps in the cradle Grandpa Charlie made.

When she isn't taking care of her babies, she is watching Caillou, cooking in her kitchen, or helping me do whatever. She's a good cook, baker, and cleaner. And she is the best shopping partner ever. She really is. She loves going to Target, but I'm happy to take her anywhere. My good buddy.

Staying in bed when we put her there is difficult for Miss Elizabeth. She still has an elaborate bedtime routine. We brush teeth, put pajamas and a pull-up on, read three books, say a prayer, listen to a made-up story (altered Snow White from mommy and Spot the Dog from daddy). Then we say good night but most of the time she comes out of her room, "mommy- I need to go potty" or "mommy I can't sleep." It's exhausting because sometimes it goes on from bedtime (8 or 8:30) until 10:00. We are working on strategies to put and end to this. The sticker chart didn't work. She would just say she didn't need a sticker today. She may be about done taking naps, but I hate that thought as well.

Lizzy's favorite books are Amelia Bedelia and Penelope Nuthatch and the Big Surprise. She has also been on a kick lately of wanting to read her big sister books we got before Henry was born. She would read books forever every night. Hence the three book rule at bedtime.

We call her Miss or Sissy. Lizzy Grace is also a favorite lately.

She continues to be a difficult eater, but is still good about eating her veggies. She has a sweet tooth like her mommy. Favorite foods are broccoli (I'm not kidding), m&ms, spaghetti, apples, and Ritz crackers. She eats steamed carrots like candy. And milk. Oh, her milk. She drinks two gallons a week and would drink more if we let her, which is the reason she still wears a pull-up for nap and bedtime. It's probably time to kick that habit. Sigh.

Lizzy also loves her dance class. She loves Saturdays because that means she gets to go to dance. She's so cute in her little leotard and tutu. And she's coming out of her shell a bit, especially with her teacher, Miss Melissa.

I should also mention she really loves going to school. She adores her teachers, Miss Cassie and Miss Katie. We love them too. It's fun to hear her talk about her little friends at school, Myrah, Maeve, Caden, Bear, Joaquin, Lilly.

Miss talks about Grandma Janice and Grandpa Charlie constantly. I thank God every day that they live close now so she can see them often.

We love you so much, almost-three-year-old Lizzy!
