OH BOY!!!

OH BOY, OH BOY, WE'RE HAVING A BOY!!!

On Wednesday, November 2 I had my 20-week ultrasound. Lizzy came along and Jon met us for the appointment. This was a very important appointment. We were going to find out the gender of our baby. Now, for a little background on that. I knew I wanted to find out the gender of my babies. I really had to talk Jon into it when we were pregnant with Elizabeth. So I told him this time he could decide whether we kept it a surprise or found out during an ultrasound. He thought about it long and hard, but ended up wanting to find out. I think it's wonderful to keep it a surprise, but being the planners that we are, we just couldn't keep it a secret. And I think it's easier to bond with baby when you know the gender and can call him/her by name even before he/she is born. So... we found out the gender. We were very anxious to know what we were having, but everyone (yes, everyone) assumed I was having another little girl. My pregnancy has felt very similar to my first one and so it seemed logical I was pregnant with the same gender. When we started the ultrasound, we were so happy to see it was 4-D. It was sooo neat to see our baby that way. One of the first shots was a frontal of the baby and I thought I saw something between the legs, but didn't say anything until we were looking closely at the "parts" and it was obvious it was a BOY!! Jon and I were both in shock. Like I said, we had kindof assumed it was a girl. But, what an awesome surprise for us! 100% sure this is a boy. Lizzy was shy and didn't want to show her parts during the ultrasound, so it took a long time to determine the gender. Not my little boy. He showed us right away :)

I keep telling Jon we need to get ready for this one. He's been full of surprises already. Can't wait to meet you, little man!!

7 weeks. Little peanut.

12 weeks. Getting bigger.

20 weeks. All curled up and snug as a bug. He's giving us the peace sign in the second one.

It was early in the morning. Who can blame him for covering his eyes.
