It's true. The baby bump comes quicker with the second than with the first. I started showing around 12 weeks, but it got really noticable - you'd know I was pregnant, not just getting a little gut - around 16 weeks or so. But in the last couple of weeks (20-22) my baby bump has really grown!
The most wonderful thing about a baby bump is, of course, feeling those tiny kicks and punches. I felt the first movement around 16 weeks, but by 20 weeks, even Jon could feel those kicks (getting less tiny) from the outside. There truly is nothing like feeling that little life inside :)
Not long after we found out I was pregnant, Jon started telling Lizzy there was a baby in mommy's belly. She picked up on it pretty quick and started pointing to my belly when we asked her where the baby was. Pretty soon everyone had a baby in their belly. She goes to Jon, Lucy, even herself, points at their belly, and says "baby." Now she even gives the baby a little kiss goodnight. So sweet.
Last night we were eating some pretzels on the couch and I asked Lizzy if I could have one. She was reluctant, so I told her if she gives me one, I would give it to the baby. She had a better idea. She placed the pretzels right on my belly. She even laid them out neatly in a row. I hope she always shares so nicely with her brother.
