Hippity Hoppity Easter

Each time I blog I say I'm going to do better about posting, and each time I let more time go in between posts. So... this time I'm not going to say anything about how long it's been. (Ahem!)

We have had a couple of wonderful weeks. For dad's big birthday (55 already!) and mom's not-so-big birthday we all spent the weekend at their house. It was so nice to spend a relaxing weekend at their place, just hanging out. I do have to say, it made me feel kindof old, though, as I looked around at my siblings, their spouses, and our kids... And maybe I was feeling even more nostalgic because we took a drive (in an attempt to get Paul and Lizzy to nap) and I took Colleen and Sarah by our old house. The street looks so much smaller than I remember and the houses look much older than I remember. So many good memories, though. It was such a great neighborhood to grow up in. There were always plenty of kids around to play "sardines" with and many of my memories of growing up involve the neighbors, Halls. It was good to drive through. It also made me feel old, though. :o)

Last weekend was Easter, which we again spent with family in Columbus. It was pretty low-key this year, but that's OK. Elizabeth's favorite part of Easter was finding the eggs with candy in them. Each time she found one, she brought it to me to open, then took out the candy and handed it back to me to give her a bite. She LOVES chocolate (a child after my own heart)!! All the problems we've had with her (not) swallowing solids do not apply to chocolate, or most sweets for that matter. What a stinker! We had an occupational therapist over a couple weeks ago and she believes spitting the food out after chewing is a habit for Elizabeth, not a developmental or motor issue. Ah, another indication of her stubbornness. :o) She will have an official evaluation soon so hopefully they can give us more tips and tricks to try with her. Even though she hasn't conquered table food yet, I'm now determined to get her off the bottle. She was down to two bottles a day, but I've decided she needs to wean. She can keep one - the nighttime bottle - for now. But, it's time to let that crutch go! Maybe that will convince her table food is just good enough to eat. :o)

Once we have that bottle gone we will officially say BYE BYE to baby-hood. She is a full-fledged toddler these days. She's walking everywhere. As soon as she decided walking was her preferred method of mobility (she switched back and forth between walking and crawling for quite a while), she took off! She's so quick already, I can hardly believe it! Wow.

Here's a glimpse of all the fun we've been having lately:

Daddy loves bathtub hairdos

Isn't he just so cute?

He rode this around forever...
