...it's been a long week

I know it's been a while since my last post, but we've been battling snow and ear infections at our house this week and I just haven't been very good about getting in here to blog. Thanks to those who are keeping me accountable, here I am!

This was quite a week. On Monday it was really icy and Jon decided to forego studying for the PE for a week to keep Lizzy home with him. They had a fun day making blanket forts and reading books. Tuesday was a snow day so mommy and Lizzy stayed warm at home. Lizzy had fun chasing Lucy and playing in the cupboards. She started battling a low fever on Tuesday, which lasted into Wednesday (another snow day) so we went to see the doctor on Wednesday afternoon. It turns out she had an ear infection, so it's a good thing we decided to take her in. I should mention she was also having trouble sleeping and woke up screaming a couple nights. Her two top teeth are about to break through so we thought she was having a hard time cutting them, on top of her stuffy nose. We also thought her daily antibiotic would keep ear infections and such away, but nonetheless her poor little ears!! Those of you who know Lizzy well know she has major stranger danger. Well, all the nurses have to do at the doctor's office is open the door and she starts screaming. The doctor has quickly become her least favorite place :(

So, we added another antibiotic to Lizzy's daily meds for a while and she seems to be doing a little better. Her cold is almost gone, but she is still tugging at her ears sometimes. I hope she does OK at daycare tomorrow. It's been a whole week since she's been there! I was able to stay with her three days last week and really, really loved that. Although she had some rough days and nights, I wouldn't have wanted her to be with anyone else. I still wrestle with taking her to daycare and whether that is the best thing for our family. It's time to just have faith that we are doing the right thing (easier said than done).

Ok, kindof a boring post, but that's our week! I am planning Lizzy's birthday party and absolutely CANNOT believe she is almost one. I now believe only parents understand the phrase "time flies." Here are some pics from the last couple of weeks. Busy Lizzy is so fun!

Watching Lucy play outside.

I still LOVE my music table!!

All ready to go!

Mommy, do you think Lucy would mind?

Thinking.

So sweet.

Playing in the tupperware drawer.

Hanging out with grandma.

I love it when grandpa plays the guitar for me.
